Savex began in Los Angeles, where curiosity, science, and a passion for creating better everyday products came together in one remarkable person: Zeverly “Zev” Lapin, PhD.

A chemist, dentist, inventor, and lifelong innovator, Zev was always experimenting with new ideas. In the 1950s, he and his brothers helped create the concept behind aerosolized whipped cream, which would later become Reddi-wip, one of America's most recognizable food products. But Zev's next invention would be something far more personal.

As a scientist, tennis player, and socialite, he wanted a lip balm that could perform anywhere—on the court, under the California sun, in dry weather, and throughout everyday life. He set out to create a formula that delivered lasting moisture, smooth application, protection, and comfort without compromise.

That formula became Savex.

Over the decades, Savex earned a devoted following. From athletes and families to beauty enthusiasts and longtime fans, people discovered a lip balm they trusted and continued to come back to year after year. It wasn't always the easiest product to find, but for those who loved it, it was always worth the search.

Today, more than 50 years later, Savex remains family-owned and proudly made in Los Angeles. We continue to honor Zev's original commitment to quality, consistency, and products that simply work.
